No. 5 Florida gets 235th win for Billy Donovan



He's now tied with Norm Sloam as the Gators' career victory leader.

TAMPA, Fla. -- Lee Humphrey scored 15 points and Walter Hodge and Taurean Green had 11 apiece Sunday night, helping Billy Donovan tie Norm Sloan as Florida's career victory leader with a 72-57 win over Florida A & amp;M.
Sloan won 235 games in 15 seasons served over two stints at the Southeastern Conference school. Donovan is 235-100 in his 11th season with the defending national champions.
Joakim Noah had a dominating performance despite only taking five shots and finishing with seven points, 17 rebounds and six blocks for No. 5 Florida (9-2), which relied on the outside shooting of Humphrey, Hodge and Dan Werner to build a 17-point halftime.
Florida played without leading scorer and rebounder Al Horford, who sat out the game because of a high ankle sprain.
Corey Brewer returned for Florida after missing the previous three games with mononucleosis.
He had three points and four rebounds in 11 minutes, while Chris Richard had six points and four rebounds filling in for Horford, who sat on the bench wearing a protective boot on his left foot.
Leslie Robinson had 11 points and Brian Greene added 10 for Florida A & amp;M (5-6).
No. 8 Wichita State 102,Maryland-Eastern Shore 46
WICHITA, Kan. -- P.J. Couisnard was 8-for-8 from the field and scored 21 points, leading Wichita State in the first round of the Las Vegas Holiday Classic.
It was the third-most lopsided victory in Wichita State history.
Karon Bradley added 14 points for the Shockers (8-0), who can match their school-record 9-0 start from 2004-05 with a second-round victory Tuesday against Kennesaw State. Kyle Wilson had 12 points, and Phillip Thomasson added 11.
Antonio McMillion led the Hawks (1-6) with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
No. 12 LSU 60, Oregon State 53
CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Glen Davis had 22 points and 13 rebounds and LSU fought off a late Oregon State rally.
Garrett Temple added 17 points for the Tigers (6-2).
LSU led by as many as 16 points in the second half, but the Beavers closed the gap to 50-42 on Jack McGillis' 3-pointer with 6:02 left. Sasa Cuic's 3-pointer got Oregon State to 52-47.
After Davis made a free throw, Josh Tarver had a layup and a foul shot to narrow it to 53-50.
Kyle Jeffers could have put Oregon State closer but he missed a pair of free throws with 2:06 left.
Tack Minor hit a 3-pointer and Davis had a hard-fought layup as LSU pulled away for the win.
Tarver led the Beavers (6-5) with 13 points. Marcel Jones had 12.
No. 14 Connecticut 89,St. Mary's 73
HARTFORD, Conn. -- Jerome Dyson had 19 points and Jeff Adrien added 15 to help Connecticut (9-0) stretch its home winning streak to 28 games.
The Huskies are opening this season with 11 consecutive home games before their Big East opener Dec. 30 at West Virginia.
Tron Smith led the Gaels (6-6) with 15 points.
No. 22 Oregon 84, Idaho St. 55
EUGENE, Ore. -- Malik Hairston had 21 points and 12 rebounds to lift Oregon over Idaho State.
Oregon improved to 10-0 to match the 1996-97 team for the best start in school history.
Aaron Brooks scored 18 points and Bryce Taylor added 14 for the Ducks, who shot 53.3 percent from the field.
Akbar Abdul-Ahad had 15 points and David Schroeder added 11 for the Bengals (4-6), who shot 36.7 percent.
