Rebels topple goal-less Bulldogs

EAST PALESTINE -- Brian Bechtel scored three goals and had two assists as the Crestview High boys soccer team posted an 8-0 victory over East Palestine Wednesday at the Bulldogs' stadium.
Aaron Stewart added two goals and two assists for the Rebels (4-0). Seth DuMoulin, Justin Kleinknecht and Mitchell See scored goals, while Austin Elwonger, Christian Freile, David Fristik and Nicholas Magill had assists. The Bulldogs are 0-1-1.

HUBBARD -- R.J. Lee scored four goals as Hubbard opened its season with an 8-1 win over LaBrae. Alex Chick scored twice while Paul Greef and Tom Belin had one goal apiece for the Eagles. Mike Pratt scored for LaBrae (0-2, 0-1).

AUSTINTOWN -- Katie Burns scored on a second-half shot that gave Fitch all it needed in a 1-0 win over Perry in a Federal League contest. Cara Calai had six saves for the Falcons (1-2, 0-1), while Fitch took 29 shots to Perry's 10.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Ashley Cuba scored a first-half goal on an assist by Vickie Dreiling for Mooney (2-1), which got six saves from Veronica Skowron. Alex Dayneka had two goals and Martha Wolf had one for Hathaway Brown (3-0). Lee Bachouros and Chrissy Butler had assists, while Ellie Shorey had seven saves.

NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Elizabeth Yuricek and Jenna Bolino scored two goals apiece and Elena Ware added one for the Raiders (2-1). Yuricek had two assists and A.J. Candela had one.
Courtney Paulin had eight saves for the Tigers (2-1). Stephanie Cross had 22 saves for Warren Harding. JVs: Springfield 2-0.

HOWLAND -- Brittany Martorana scored two goals and added three assists for Howland.
Kaylan Hovance, Mellissa Kohn and Megan Long all scored one goal for the Tigers (2-0-1, 2-0 MAC). Salem (1-3, 0-2) did not have a shot on goal.
