Green Team Jeopardy
The Mahoning County Commissioners' Reuse and Recycling Division will hold its annual Green Team Jeopardy championship game today at 11 a.m. at the Education Building. Meteorologist Stan Boney will officiate.
Local high-school champions will vie for a $300 prize. They are Allison Williams of Ursuline High School, Drew Janek of Campbell Memorial and Tricia Chamberlain of West Branch High. Andrew Mitchell of Boardman High School is alternate.
Waste Management Mahoning Landfill has donated the prize money.
Harness racing events
"A Salute to Veterans" begins at 11:45 a.m. Saturday before harness racing at noon. There is free grandstand seating. The salute is a cooperative effort among the Canfield Harness Horsemen's Association; the Mahoning Veterans Memorial headed by club director Harold Hake, with the support of John P. Brown III, AMVETS national vice commander; and Bev Fisher, fair manager. There will be free grandstand seating again Monday for the race program. A collection for the Muscular Dystrophy Association will be taken in the grandstand during the races.
Singers wanted
Singers are invited to assemble at the stage near the grandstand Sunday to sing during the 9:30 a.m. ecumenical service. A rehearsal will begin at 9 a.m. All participants will be reimbursed their admission fee for the day.
All dressed up
The Dress-a-Cow Contest starts at 1 p.m. Sunday at the South Cattle Arena.
