Tuesday, August 29, 2006 "Celebrity Duets" (8 p.m., Fox): This new series will address this pressing issue: Can Cheech Marin, Lucy Lawless and other stars not known for being songbirds manage to carry a tune when they're paired up with the likes of Clint Black, Michael Bolton and Macy Gray? Fox's new singing competition has a special two-hour premiere tonight before it settles into its regular Thursday and Friday slots the following week, where it will warble through September. Created by "American Idol" meanie Simon Cowell, "Celebrity Duets" will partner its eight contestants with a slate of recording stars (who also include Peter Frampton, James Ingram, Wynonna Judd and others). After each Thursday edition, viewers will vote for their favorite celebrity performers, with the outcome announced live on the Friday show. The winning celebrity wins a $100,000 cash prize he or she will present to charity. Besides Marin and Lawless, the celeb contenders include WWE world champion Chris Jericho, 2004 Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Carly Patterson, and actress Lea Thompson ("Caroline in the City"). "Million Dollar Listing" (9 p.m., Bravo): Real estate is by nature a competitive business, but when it involves some of the most expensive property around, it can become downright cutthroat — and more than a little emotional. This six-episode series, set in some of the toniest areas of metropolitan Los Angeles, follows high-powered agents from open houses to the close of the deal as they look to broker some of the city's most expensive properties — cashing in on some serious commissions in the process. "Wide Angle: Ransom City" (9 p.m., PBS): Brazil is the setting for this documentary, in which investigators of Sao Paulo's anti-kidnapping team track the abduction of the mothers of five celebrity soccer players. The program also profiles a pair of kidnappers, who discuss why they chose lives of crime. "Rescue Me" (10 p.m., FX): The smoke clears (well, a little) for the season finale of "Rescue Me." It's been a tangled, tragic and often hilarious round for this group of New York firefighters and the women they love and hate. Now, will the brotherhood of Manhattan's 62 Truck be dissolving and the men going their separate ways? And how will Tommy Gavin (series star Denis Leary) deal with the baby his ex-wife is expecting? The third-season conclusion airs tonight. "The Final Report: Osama's Escape" (10 p.m., National Geographic Channel): Secrets of the world's greatest escape artist are revealed.
