3 charged in beating death of Pa. man

ALBION, Pa. (AP) -- Three men lured an acquaintance to a field, where they robbed and beat him, leaving him there to die, police said.
Brothers Jeffrey A. Strait, 30, and John C. Strait, 29, both of Albion, and Michael A. Campbell, 30, of Lake City, were charged Saturday with homicide, assault and related offenses in the death of Robert J. "Rocky" Ulrich Jr.
The three lured Ulrich, 36, of West Springfield, to a Conneaut Township field Aug. 19, then robbed and beat him, police said. The Erie County coroner said Ulrich died of traumatic brain injury and pneumonia.
Ulrich's body was found Friday, the day police learned he had been missing. Police said an acquaintance of Ulrich's told police that he found Ulrich's boots and pants along a road.
A cadaver dog found Ulrich's body about 100 yards away in a partially wooded field.
The suspects were being held without bond at the Erie County Prison. It was not immediately determined if they had attorneys.
