Sunday, August 27, 2006 REGION North Lima's Rita's Ices features Italian treats NORTH LIMA — Rita's Ices, Cones, Shakes and Other Cool Stuff, has opened at 9025 Market St. Gregory and Jill Klocek are the franchisees for the chain of Italian ice stores. The couple said they visited a Rita's location in Jacksonville, Fla., last summer and decided to bring the concept to this area. Rita's Italian Ices are made daily and available in more than 30 flavors. Rita's has about 380 locations and 30 more are under construction. The chain was started in 1984 by Bob Tumolo in Bensalem, Pa., but was acquired by Pittsburgh-based McKnight Capital Partners last year. NEOTEC trustees board elects '06-07 officers KENT — The board of trustees of the Northeast Ohio Trade and Economic Consortium elected these officers for 2006-07: Larry Saulino, a certified public account from Akron, chairman; Rick Hale, president of Winner Aviation Corp. in Vienna, vice chairman; Rod Crider, president of Wayne Economic Development Council in Wooster, secretary; and Steve Paquette, president of Stark Development Board in Canton, treasurer. Elected as committee chairmen were Reid Dulberger, executive vice president of the Regional Chamber in Youngstown, marketing committee; and Tracy Drake, chief executive of the Columbiana County Port Authority, foreign-trade zone committee. NEOTEC is a private, nonprofit regional economic development partnership of 10 Northeast Ohio counties. Bury Financial Group grows, changes location POLAND — Bury Financial Group has expanded and moved to a new location at 20 E. McKinley Way. Todd Bury, company president, added Brian Laraway and Michael Latessa to his financial planning team. The three have all been involved with Mahoning Valley Professional 20/30 Club. Anatomical Concepts moves to new location BOARDMAN — Anatomical Concepts has moved to 1399 E. Western Reserve Road. The company, which was established in 1990, manufactures orthopedic bracing. It has 17 full-time and four part-time workers. William W. DeToro is company president and chief executive, while William A. DeToro is vice president and chief operating officer. CPAs to teach pupils about business concepts YOUNGSTOWN — Ohio Junior Achievement has joined with The Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants to teach pupils the "economics of life." The Ohio Society of CPA will offer their members the opportunity to volunteer for Junior Achievement's classroom programs across the state. CPAs will use Junior Achievement materials to teach pupils concepts relating to business, economics and the free enterprise system. "We are thrilled to receive volunteer support from The Ohio Society of CPA. A CPA's financial knowledge and skills will enhance the Junior Achievement business and money management lessons taught to students kindergarten through 12th grade," said Michele Merkel, president of Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley.
