Pa. man dies in wreck
NEW LEBANON, Pa. -- Pennsylvania State Police said Gary E. Linn, 59, of Franklin, Pa., died when he swerved his car to miss an animal in the road. The car struck a sport utility vehicle in New Vernon Township, Mercer County.
Police said Linn, who was wearing a seat belt, was eastbound on Georgetown Road around 8:20 p.m. Friday and lost control of his car when he tried to avoid the animal.
His car slid into the path of a westbound SUV driven by Bruce D. Feltenberger, 53, of Polk, Pa. The SUV hit the driver's side of Linn's car and then rolled onto its roof.
Linn was pronounced dead at the scene by a Mercer County deputy coroner. Feltenberger and a passenger in the Linn car, Linda M. Linn of Franklin, were treated at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville. Police said both were wearing seat belts and had moderate injuries.
