Man with T-shirt over his face robs Subway



Friday, August 25, 2006 YOUNGSTOWN — A suspect who showed a handgun to two employees at the Subway shop, 830 E. Midlothian Blvd., took an undisclosed amount of money. An employee told police the robbery occurred at 4:42 p.m. Wednesday when he arrived for work and saw a person pacing in front of the business, swinging a white T-shirt. The employee then heard the suspect trying to get in the front south door, which was locked. The employee got up to lock the west side door, but the suspect entered the business and then lifted his waistband to show the gun and said, "You know what this is." The employee handed over money in the cash register. The suspect pointed behind the counter, indicating knowledge of a money box kept there, then took the contents and fled. The suspect, who had placed the T-shirt over his face with only his eyes showing, also was wearing black and orange tennis shoes, according to the report Employees told police a recently fired worker knew where the money box was kept. Another employee witnessed the robbery.
