3 men arraigned on drug charges
Thursday, August 24, 2006 YOUNGSTOWN — Police armed with a search warrant arrested three people and seized suspected marijuana, a handgun and $1,625 in cash from a home at 116 Seneca St. Police said they knocked at the door and identified themselves as police officers but got no response just before 7 p.m. Tuesday. They said that after they heard people running around inside, they forced open the door. Police found three people in the basement: Daniel L. Evans, 30, of East Philadelphia Avenue, and Khadija S. Robinson, 26, and Jerome Evans, 29, both of 116 Seneca St. Officers said they found several large plastic bags and 10 small bags of suspected marijuana as well as some loose marijuana on a table, along with containers of small plastic bags. Police said Robinson admitted buying the marijuana in Columbus and bringing it back to Youngstown. All three were arraigned in municipal court Wednesday, Daniel Evans on a charge of drug abuse-marijuana and Robinson and Jerome Evans on aggravated trafficking in drugs. Daniel Evans pleaded innocent and was freed on bond. He faces a pretrial hearing at 9:15 p.m. Sept. 28. Robinson and Jerome Evans were held in county jail in lieu of bond. They face a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 31. Police also served a search warrant at a house at 319 E. Pasadena Ave. around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday. They seized a handgun, various pills and two crack pipes. Officers found four people in the home but made no arrests.
