Tuesday, August 22, 2006 Recent reported criminal activity in Canfield city and Austintown: CANFIELD CITY Aug. 15 Menacing: A 45-year-old Canfield man at the El Patio Motel, 485 W. Main St., said another resident told him he would be "erased" by 9 a.m. He wanted the incident to be documented in case something happened. Drug arrest: Police arrested a 19-year-old Struthers woman on charges of possessing drug abuse instruments and possessing drug paraphernalia. She was turned over to Austintown police on warrants for receiving stolen property and misuse of credit cards. Marijuana: A pack of McClintock rolling papers, marijuana and marijuana cigarettes were found on a 46-year-old Jefferson. Ohio, man who was arrested on charges of drug abuse, obtaining and possessing, using and consuming drugs. Aug. 16 Marijuana: A 20-year-old Springfield man was arrested on charges of drug abuse, obtaining, possessing and concealing drugs at Sleepy Hollow Drive and North Broad Street after police found 4 grams of marijuana in a plastic bag on him. Aug. 17 Telephone harassment: A Lisbon street woman reported to police that a man made sexually obscene comments to her on the phone. Her phone service told her the call could be from out of the country and told her to report it to police so she would not be charged for the call. Aug. 18 Theft: A DVD/CD/Video player was stolen from a trailer parked in a driveway in the 300 block of Hilltop Boulevard. Theft: A resident of the 300 block of Lisbon Street told police $20 was missing from a pair of pants. Aug. 19 Theft: A woman resident of the 200 block of Talisman Drive reported five checks worth a total of $400 had been withdrawn from her account at a local savings institution without her permission. AUSTINTOWN TOWNSHIP Aug. 14 Aggravated burglary: A burglar assaulted his victim during a burglary at an apartment in the 900 block of Compass West. Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at a home in the 1000 block of S. Raccoon Road. Theft: $37.67 in gasoline was stolen at Country Fair, 1143 N. Niles-Canfield Road. Bad check: A bad check was written to a homeowner in the 300 block of Forest Hill Drive. Criminal damaging: A vehicle antenna box was damaged at the apartments in the 1000 block of Compass West. Theft: A man from Girard and a woman from Youngstown were arrested on theft charges at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave. Criminal damaging: An advertisement sign was damaged at Noday's, 3713 Oakwood Ave. Theft by deception: A victim paid for work that was not done by a man at a home in the 4000 block of Kirk Road. Burglary: A flat-iron hair hot tool was stolen from a room at Best Value Inn, 1051 N. Canfield-Niles Road. Aug. 15 Aggravated robbery: A Youngstown man was jailed after a robbery of an undetermined amount of cash at Speedway, 4401 Kirk Road. Criminal damaging: Red paint was dumped on a vehicle in the carport in the 1000 block of W. Hampton Drive. Theft: Police have a female suspect in a theft at Get Go, 5163 Mahoning Ave. Theft: $80 in cash was stolen using an ATM card in the 800 block of Compass West. Theft: A washer and dryer were taken by renters at a home in the 7000 block of Wilcox Road. Theft: Drywall was taken from Bodyworks, 5551 Silica Road. Theft: A Dell projector was stolen from ITT, 1030 N. Meridian Road. Burglary: A man was arrested for burglary at Best Value Inn, 1051 N. Canfield-Niles Road. Aug. 16 Criminal damaging: Tires were cut on a vehicle at a home in the 5000 block of Oakcrest Avenue. Theft: A man from Georgia was arrested on a charge of theft of service, a truck wash worth $67.10, at Blue Beacon, 5300 Seventy-Six Drive. Theft: A Girard woman was issued a summons, both on charges of theft of $491.50 in merchandise and possession of drug paraphernalia, at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave. Fraud: A credit card was opened in the victim's name by a business partner at Daily Grind, 1412 S. Raccoon Road. Theft: A wooden bench was stolen from a home in the 5000 block of Winthrop Drive. Theft: A Free Agent Trailduster stunt bicycle was stolen from the 1000 block of Maplecrest Drive. Theft: A UPS package was stolen from an apartment in the 1000 block of Fountain Square apartments. Disorderly conduct: A man was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct in the 6300 block of Mahoning Avenue. Theft: A man is accused in a theft from a home in the 4000 block of S. Raccoon Road. Burglary: An apartment was broken into and cash taken in the 100 block of N. Kimberly Avenue. Aug. 17 Theft: A diamond ring was stolen from a home in the 400 block of S. Edgehill Ave. Burglary: Jewelry and electronic equipment were stolen in the 80 block of Kenmar Court. Identity theft: A man reported identity theft in the 200 block of Beverly Ave. Theft: A Charter One Bank debit card was stolen from a woman in the 4000 block of Mahoning Avenue. Attempted theft: There are two male suspects in an attempted theft at Handyman Hardware, 4351 Kirk Road. Theft: Lawn ornaments were stolen from a home in the 2000 block of Redgate Lane. Auto theft: A 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was stolen from O'Donald's, 6000 Mahoning Ave. Burglary: An intruder was frightened off by a homeowner, and nothing was stolen, in the 30 block of N. Yorkshire Boulevard. Aug. 18 Auto theft: a 1992 Ford F-150 was stolen and a man arrested and the vehicle recovered in the 80 block of North Raccoon Road. Theft: $10 in gasoline was stolen from Shell gas station, 4200 Mahoning Ave. Theft: $38 in gasoline was stolen from Country Fair, 1143 N. Canfield-Niles Road. Theft: Eight compact discs were stolen from a vehicle at a home in the 100 block of North Edgehill Ave. Missing plates: Two dealer plates were reported missing by Don Munn Auto Sales, 5317 Mahoning Ave. Attempted theft: Damage to the door lock and left door was reported on an auto at the Skate Zone, 5420 Mahoning Ave. Theft: Tools were taken from Boak and Sons, 75 Victoria Road. Theft: $50.05 of gasoline was stolen from Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave. Theft: $45.39 worth of gasoline was stolen from Sheetz. Theft: A 20-inch Mongoose blue bicycle was stolen from Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave. Aug. 19 Burglary: At a home in the 30 block of South Raccoon Road. Attempted breaking and entering: A rear door was damaged at Cornersburg Pizza, 4750 Mahoning Ave. Theft: Chairs and aluminum grills were stolen from a home in the 3000 block of South Raccoon Road. Fraud: An unauthorized transaction on an account was reported by a homeowner in the 6000 block of Irene Avenue. Theft: Ice cream was stolen from Sheetz gas station. Theft: $32.73 in fuel was stolen from Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave. Criminal damaging: Four tires were flattened and sugar poured into the engine block on a vehicle at a home in the 1000 block of Compass West apartments. Aug. 20 Drug offense: A Youngstown man was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana at Chippers, 5 N. Edgehill Ave. Breaking and entering: At Mike's Storage, 1269 N. Canfield-Niles Road. Theft: A wallet was stolen at a home in the 200 block of S. Edgehill Ave. Theft: Items were taken out of a storage unit by family members at Uncle Bob's, 3690 Leharps Road.
