Tuesday, August 22, 2006 Death ruled accidental LIBERTY — The death of Joseph J. Cramer, who rolled his all-terrain vehicle and was pinned under it Friday night, has been ruled accidental. The Trumbull County coroner's office said Monday that Cramer, 50, of 5730 Sampson Road, died of multiple blunt traumatic injuries. Police said Cramer was driving the ATV in a wooded area around Tibbetts-Wick Road and state Route 304 when he lost control on the side of the road. His body was found Saturday after he was reported missing Friday. Women's Equality Day WARREN — The League of Women Voters of Trumbull County, the Warren YWCA and the Upton Association are celebrating the 86th anniversary of women's earning the right to vote with an event Saturday. The Women's Equality Day event will take place at noon at The Women's Park in Trumbull County and will feature a keynote address by Warren City Schools Superintendent Kathryn Hellweg, music by the Spirit of the Valley Chorus and a color guard from the U.S. Army. In addition, the event, which will be emceed by WYTV's Angee Shaker, will feature Michalene Hughley portraying 19th-century abolitionist and women's rights advocate Sojourner Truth. The Women's Park is located on Mahoning Avenue between the Kinsman House and city hall. Refreshments will be served at the Upton House immediately after the event. Arrested in shooting FARRELL, Pa. — Southwest Mercer County Regional Police arrested Marquis Ann Lampkins, 25, of East Connelly Boulevard, Sharon, on charges of criminal attempt at homicide, four counts of aggravated assault and two counts of recklessly endangering another person. Police said they arrested Lampkins at 7:31 p.m. Saturday after responding to a call that shots had been fired at a woman and her daughter on the porch of a Hamilton Avenue home. Police said Lampkins was arraigned before District Justice James McMahon and released without monetary bond. Mosquito spraying EDINBURG, Pa. — Mosquito spraying to control the threat of West Nile virus is planned here this week. Spraying will begin at dusk either Wednesday or Thursday, depending on weather conditions. Workers will not be spraying if there is rain. Residents in Edinburg are asked to keep doors and windows closed during the spraying. The staff of the Lawrence County West Nile Virus Program has been monitoring mosquito-breeding locations. Though no West Nile-carrying mosquitoes have been found, there is a high population of adult mosquitoes in Edinburg. Police seek driver CAMPBELL — An unidentified driver fled the scene after crashing the half-ton pickup he was driving into the side of a brick building at Murray Avenue and Robinson Road at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday. "With all the blood inside the cab of the pickup, and the way the vehicle was smashed up, I don't know how the driver walked away," said Patrolman Ryan Bloomer. The police report says the pickup was northbound on Murray, veered right through the intersection at Robinson, went over a curb and made a hole in the brick wall of the building at 6 Twelfth St. that houses Mike's Place, a restaurant and bar. The pickup is registered to a Hubbard man, but police didn't know Monday if he had been driving. Fire spreads to home YOUNGSTOWN — Firefighters said someone set fire to a pile of clothing and other personal belongings left outside a home at 3016 Burbank Ave. The fire burned through a window and damaged the home's interior around 10:40 p.m. Friday, causing about $7,000 in damage, firefighters said. Charles Linebaugh Jr., who lives at the home, said the clothing and other items were his, tossed outside after a dispute with his father and stepmother earlier in the day. He told firefighters he knew nothing about the fire.
