Court suspends license of Warren lawyer

Tuesday, August 22, 2006

Tuesday, August 22, 2006 COLUMBUS — The Ohio Supreme Court has placed the law license of a Warren lawyer on interim remedial suspension for alleged violations of the high court's Code of Professional Conduct. The high court also said Monday that James E. Gray's license should not be reinstated until it is ordered by the court. According to the Trumbull County Bar Association, which moved for the interim suspension, Gray allegedly violated several disciplinary rules including "illegal conduct involving moral turpitude"; the collection of an illegal or clearly excessive fee and failing to carry out an employment contract with a client for professional services. Gray couldn't immediately be reached to comment. But in a court filing, Gray said the bar association's motion never specifically identifies the fact pattern on which it's basing the misconduct allegations. According to court records, Gray received his law degree from Ohio Northern University and has practiced in Warren since 1974. A high court spokesman said the investigation will continue.
