Trip to Croatia held on occasion of Sontich 50th



Sunday, August 20, 2006 POLAND — Atty. and Mrs. John Sontich, 85 Green Meadow Place, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in July by traveling with their children and their families to Bubrovnik, Croatia. While there, the couple were honored during a dinner party held by family members and friends at the Konavoski Komin Restaurant. Among those accompanying the Sontiches on the trip were their daughter, Viive Clayton of Poland, and son and daughter-in-law, Dr. John K. and Ute Sontich of Chagrin Falls, and six grandchildren. Married July 28, 1956, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville, the Sontiches are members of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Youngstown. Mrs. Sontich, the former Viive Prees, was vice president of Strouss Department Store in Youngstown prior to retiring in 1986. She is a graduate of Youngstown College and a member of Phi Mu Sorority. Mr. Sontich served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. A graduate of Youngstown College and Cleveland Marshall Law School, he was an estate tax attorney for the Internal Revenue in Youngstown until retiring in 1986. He is a member of the Sigma Delta Fraternity and the Veterans of Foreign wars. Both are members of the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 66,
