Shooting hurts girl, 6

Sunday, August 20, 2006 YOUNGSTOWN — A 6-year-old girl was injured when her home on Shehy Street was shot sometime Saturday. The child was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment of an injury to her left leg. The extent of her injury was not available late Saturday night. Police said they responded to the Shehy residence and found evidence that it and a vehicle in the driveway had been damaged by gunfire. Large amounts of sharp glass were found at the scene from a damaged fish tank. Police would not release further details about the matter.
