Friday, August 18, 2006 A homeowner tried to call the police but had phone problems. CAMPBELL — Police arrested two 18-year-old men and a male juvenile after receiving reports of men breaking into one home and peeking in the windows of others. Police charged Patrick Weaver, 18, of Gordon Avenue, with two counts of aggravated burglary, five counts of theft and possession of marijuana. He is in the Mahoning County jail. Police charged Randy Flores, 18, of Sixth Street, with receiving stolen property, obstructing official business and resisting arrest, and he was held in the city jail. The 15-year-old juvenile is charged with theft, aggravated burglary, obstructing official business and resisting arrest. He was taken to Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center. Police received a call early Thursday from a Harold Lane woman reporting that two men were breaking into her neighbor's house. The homeowner told police she heard people walking through her home and tried to call police, but she was having difficulties with her phone. She said she didn't leave her bedroom and didn't see the burglars. The neighbor described the men who fled the home before police arrived. Another caller reported three men walking around Courtland Avenue, peering in windows. Pursuit An officer checking the scene spotted two men who matched the description of those involved in the break-in behind a church on Keystone Street. The officer ordered the men to the ground, but they fled. Police caught one, later identified as the juvenile, in the church parking lot. He had a credit card in the name of the Harold Street woman, the police report says. Flores was hiding in a driveway on Gladstone Street and an officer saw him place something behind a car parked in the driveway. He was stopped when he tried to run again, reports say. Police found miscellaneous compact discs where the officer saw Flores place something. Witnesses identified both the boy and man, reports said. Another witness on Courtland told police that he saw a man matching the third suspect's description enter a Lettie Avenue house. Police saw someone inside of the home and ordered him to open the door. Weaver complied but said he had permission to be there. The homeowner then came out of a bedroom and told police that Weaver didn't have permission to be there, police reports said. Police found the Lettie homeowner's wallet and keys to his car, two prescription bottles in the homeowner's name and suspected marijuana in Weaver's pocket, reports said. Another neighbor told police that he saw Weaver loading items into a car owned by the Lettie man. Police found a PlayStation and a laptop computer in the car, and the Lettie resident said the items were from his home. He also told police that he was missing several CDs. Witnesses also identified Weaver, according to reports. While in custody, the juvenile told police the locations of two vehicles taken during home burglaries in the city earlier this week. Both vehicles were recovered, police said.
