Family celebrates 50th anniversary of the Kovaches during picnic

Sunday, August 13, 2006 LIBERTY — Family members gathered for a picnic to honor Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kovach of Liberty on their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. Kovach and the former Ann Oexle exchanged vows Aug. 11, 1956, at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown. They are members of St. Edward Church in Youngstown. Mr. Kovach retired in 1994 after 36 years in the engineer's department of East Ohio Gas Co. in Youngstown. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954, and has been active in the St. Vincent de Paul Society for 30 years. Mrs. Kovach is a homemaker, and before the birth of her children worked for M.C. Raupple. She is a member of the St. Edward crochet club. Their family consists of Jim Kovach of Liberty, Jerry and Marge Kovach of Clark, N.J., Sue and Greg Malito of Austintown, Kathy Kovach of Tampa Bay, Fla., and three grandchildren.
