N. Ohio writers plantheir monthly meeting
The Greater Canton Writers Guild will hold its regular monthly meeting at the Amateur Sports Hall of Fame, 1414 Market Avenue N., Canton, on Friday. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
The speaker will be Debbie Alferio, a lifelong resident of Northern Ohio who is a member of the Poets & amp; Writers League of Greater Cleveland, Sauna Friends Writers Group of Ohio and the Writers Ink Writers Group of Columbus.
Alferio will discuss her first novel, "A Forever Kind of Love," which will introduce her Forever Love series. A portion of Alferio's profits are donated to the American Cancer Society.

Wooster Book Companyhosts event for women
The Wooster Book Company, 205 W. Liberty Street, Wooster, will present an event called the "Rut-Busting Champagne Event for Women."
Targeted to women who are feeling overscheduled, overwhelmed or overloaded, the event will feature professional freelance writer and author Nancy Christie, who will take the participants through a series of creative techniques to encourage them to taking steps to realize their potential.
The event will be Saturday at 2 p.m. Reservations are requested because of limited space. Light refreshments will be provided. To make a reservation, call (330) 262-1688.
After the workshop, Christie will sign copies of her book "The Gifts of Change," which will be available for purchase at the book company.
