CHARLENE HELSEL | STEVEN KATHER

XCANFIELD -- Canfield United Methodist Church was the setting at 2:30 p.m. March 25 as Charlene Helsel, 5686 Broadview Road, Parma, and Steven Kather, 200 E. Main St., Girard, were united in marriage. Officiating were the Revs. Don Christensen and Burt Manchester.
A reception was held at A La Cart Catering for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Helsel, 2920 Pleasant Valley, Lordstown, and the son of Elaine Kather, of the Girard address. After a wedding trip to Sugar Creek, the couple live in Parma.
The bride wore an ivory gown with red accents at the hem and neckline.
Claret-colored gowns were worn by the bride's sister and honor attendant, Christy Helsel of Lordstown, and the bridesmaids, Kathleen Logan of Lordstown, and the bride's cousins, Shari Manchester, Sara Manchester and Caryn Manchester, all of Powell. Flower girl was the bride's cousin, Julia Marsico of Austintown.
Best man was John Morabito of Girard, and groomsmen were Curt Zaleski of Girard; Nick Alcantar of Mentor, and the groom's cousins, Nick Ryland of Columbus and Bobby Hunkus of Girard. Ring bearer was the groom's cousin, Brennan Kuzman of Girard.
The bride, who will use the name Charlene Helsel-Kather, graduated from Youngstown State University where she majored in history and from Kent State University with a librarian degree. She is a teen librarian at Elyria Public Library.
The groom graduated from KSU with a degree in speech pathology and is employed at Dental Care Partners in Cleveland.
