Girl testifies that baby sitter raped her
WARREN -- On the second day of testimony in a rape trial, a 12-year-old girl testified that she was raped by Allan Jackson Jr. in the basement of her Warren home and said that Jackson took pictures on his cell phone.
Jackson, 35, of Homewood Avenue Southeast, is charged with five counts of rape and five counts of pandering obscenity and faces a sentence of 10 years to life on each rape count if convicted. He could get two to eight years in prison on the pandering obscenity charges.
The girl, who is not related to Jackson, testified in the Trumbull County Common Pleas courtroom of Judge John Stuard that Jackson committed the acts while baby-sitting her.
The girl was Assistant Prosecutor Mike Burnett's final witness. The defense will be permitted to call witnesses first thing today, and Judge Stuard told jurors to expect testimony to be completed before lunch.
The girl's mother testified that she had known Jackson for 16 years and that Jackson sometimes baby-sat her daughter. She testified that she told her daughter to obey Jackson while he was supervising her.
The mother said she took the girl to the Warren Police Department and then Trumbull Memorial Hospital on Dec. 27, 2005, after her sister told her that something might be wrong.
Lee Lerussi, an agent with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, testified about photographs found on Jackson's cell phone depicting sex acts with a child.
