YOUNGSTOWN -- A man who pretended to be buying a drink broke open a cash register at BP, 2069 Midlothian Blvd., about noon Sunday and ran off with an unspecified amount of cash, police said.
The man told the clerk he forgot his wallet and started punching buttons on the cash register, reports said. When the clerk tried to stop him, he pried the cash register open, grabbed cash and ran off.
