Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital employees have contributed $10,000 to the American Red Cross for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. A check presentation will take place at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday involving members of TMH Federated Giving program and the American Red Cross Trumbull County Chapter. The presentation will be in the hospital's Healing Garden, 1350 E. Market St., Warren. The TMH Federated Giving is a program in which employees voluntarily make donations to assist employees or others within the community who are in significant need. With the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana and Mississippi, the committee decided to extend its help beyond the local area.
Howard Hanna Real Estate Services announced that the company has raised $140,050 for the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Fund. The company matched dollar-for-dollar employee donations and donated $5 for each person who visited a Howard Hanna open house on Sunday, Sept. 11. Visitors at the open houses totaled 2,970, making that portion of the donation $14,850.
The pupils and staff at Robinwood Lane Elementary School in Boardman, inspired by the plight of Hurricane Katrina victims, raised $1,035 through the "Robinwood Relief" fund drive. The effort began on the second day of school and ended Sept. 16. The money was delivered to the Mahoning County Red Cross offices to be added to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
