Saturday, September 17, 2005

Proceeds will provide assistance for homeless families in the community.
BOARDMAN -- The 100th anniversary of its service to the Mahoning Valley will be celebrated by the YWCA of Youngstown with an Autumn Swing Dance to be held from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Holiday Inn.
A highlight of the evening will be a dance contest featuring single-step swing and triple-step swing, and a silent auction of unique and specialty items. There will also be music from the past 50 years, and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
The event is a means of raising awareness and support for YWCA housing programs for homeless women and their families.
YWCA housing programs include permanent rental housing in the community for homeless families with a disabled household member, transitional housing and supportive services for homeless women and their children, and permanent housing with supportive services for single homeless women with disabilities.
Contributions
General swing tickets are $25 a person or $40 a couple, celebration tickets are $50 per person or $80 a couple, and centennial tables of eight with reserved seating are $500.
