REBECCA LAPERRICK HARPSTER
XBIRMINGHAM, Mich. -- The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer was the setting at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 27 as nuptial vows were exchanged by Rebecca Laper and Rick Harpster, both of Chicago.
The Revs. Charles Moffett and Duane Wuggazer presided at the ceremony, and a reception followed at the Community House.
After a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple live in Chicago.
Parents of the bride are Patrick and Kathleen Laper, 868 Dickson Lane, Rochester Hills, Mich., and the groom's parents are James and Sharon Harpster, 61 Saybrook Drive, Canfield.
Re-embroidered Alencon lace appliques adorned the bride's ivory silk faille gown, and the A-line skirt flowed into a chapel train.
Purple gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Melissa Duggan, and the bridesmaids, Joanne Alnajjar, Jennifer Meder and Danielle Olekszyk.
The duties of best man were performed by the groom's brother, Brian Harpster, and groomsmen were Gautam Kamlapurkar, Kevin Rosenfield and Mike Waters.
The bride graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a degree in business-accounting. She is a senior accountant with the Pepsi Co. in Chicago.
The groom, an analyst with Svoboda Collins Co. in Chicago, earned a degree in business-accounting at the University of Michigan.
