CANDICE VANEKKENT WRIGHT
XCANFIELD -- A reception was held at The Georgetown in Boardman to honor Kent Wright and his bride, the former Candice Vanek, following their wedding at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at Old North Church.
The Rev. Brent Allen presided at the ceremony for the daughter of Vince and Claudia Vanek of Boardman and the son of Bob and Sallie Wright of Boardman.
The couple spent their honeymoon in Hawaii and live in Youngstown.
The white satin A-line gown worn by the bride featured a beaded bodice and a draped skirt with an asymmetrical inset.
Black gowns were worn by Jaimie Knittle of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Kelly Moritz of McDonald, the honor attendants, and the bridesmaids, Trisha Vanek of Hubbard, the bride's sister; Tracey Wright of Youngstown, the groom's sister-in-law; Ratna Talati of Richmond, Va.; Holly Matyi of Kernersville, N.C.; and Kimberly Varley of Youngstown.
Pat Khumprakob of Boardman was best man, and groomsmen were Doug Hogan, Denny White, Matt Owens and Jeff Hogan, all of Boardman, and the groom's brothers, Scott Wright of Boardman and Kurt Wright of Youngstown. Ring bearer was his nephew, Brent Wright of Boardman.
The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She is employed by Boardman Local Schools as a Title 1 teacher at Market Street Elementary School. The groom is a firefighter with Youngstown Fire Department.
