XCANFIELD -- Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Casey of Canfield and West Palm Beach, Fla., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 1 during a Mass held at the Knock Shrine Basilica of Our Lady in County Mayo, Ireland.
The couple continued the celebration by spending two weeks in Galway County, Kinvara, touring the area and visiting Casey family relatives in Quilty, County Clare, Ireland.
The anniversary will also be observed at a Casey family dinner to be held Sept. 28 in Cleveland.
The former Minnie Hayek and Mr. Casey were married Sept. 28, 1955, at St. Anthony Church in Angola, Ind.
The couple's family includes Kathleen and Richard Durflinger of Huron, Patrick M. and Jackie Casey of Lorain, and Michael Casey of Palm Springs, Calif., and Palm Beach, Fla., who joined them for the final week in Ireland. The Caseys are also the grandparents of six.
Mrs. Casey is retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing. Her husband, a retired firefighter, is associated with Zid Realty and Associates.
