THURSDAY
XVFW Triangle Post 2799 will hold a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under 12. Carryouts are $5.25. Meals will include homemade meatballs, salad, bread and coffee or tea.
FRIDAY
XAmerican Legion Post 560, 103 Twelfth St., Campbell, will sponsor a fish and shrimp fry from noon to 6 p.m. at the post home. The menu will include macaroni and cheese or french fries, coleslaw, bread and coffee. Meals are $7 for adults and $3 for children. Carryouts will be available.
XFirst Presbyterian Church of Columbiana, 28 E. Park Ave., will hold a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $8 and includes mashed potatoes, green beans, roll and beverage. Pie will be available for $1 per slice. Carryouts will be available. For information call (330) 482-2666.
XGuilford Lake Ruritan Club, Route 172 at Hanna Drive, will sponsor a beer-batter fish fry from 3:30 to 7 p.m. The menu will include potato, green beans, coleslaw, bread, ice cream and beverage. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Carryouts will be available.
XHoly Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will be selling potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon Friday at (330) 755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide containers.
XHoly Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church will serve fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod, Spanish rice or haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries, coleslaw, string beans, applesauce, bread, and coffee or tea. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.
XSt. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pizza and other Italian treats. Orders may be placed by calling (330) 746-9577 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 1 p.m. Friday.
XPotato, prune and kraut pirogi will be sold at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at (330) 755-1316. Orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers.
XSt. Paul the Apostle Church, Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi. Orders can be called to (330) 542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday.
XTod Avenue United Methodist Church will have its first all-you-can-eat fish dinner of the season from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the church, 155 Tod Ave., Warren. Meatloaf will also be available. Cost is $7 for adults and $2.50 for children. Meals will be delivered to the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority's Tod and Buckeye buildings by calling (330) 393-3859.
SATURDAY
XFirst Baptist Church, corner of Eastland Avenue and Surrey Road S.E., Warren, will have its monthly creamed turkey and biscuit dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $6.50 for adults, $3 for children 4 to 10 and free for those 3 and under. Menu will include mashed potatoes, vegetable, coleslaw, applesauce, dessert and beverage. Carryouts will be available by calling the church at (330) 369-5432.
XFowler United Methodist Church, 3426 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, will hold a chicken-pie dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Meals will include potatoes, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw, bread, dessert and beverage. Cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children 6 to 12 and free for preschoolers. Takeouts will be available.
XOld Springfield United Church of Christ, 11957 state Route 170, New Middletown, will be having its annual barbecue chicken dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tickets for the full dinner, including dessert and beverage, can be purchased at the door for $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for children 5 to 12. Those under 5 are free.

XOur Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the church hall. Cost is $5.50 for adults and $3 for children. Carryouts will be available; containers are 75 cents or you can provide your own.
XSt. Rocco Episcopal Church will serve spaghetti and/or cavatelli dinners from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parish hall, 239 Trumbull Ave., Liberty Township. Adult dinners are $6.50, and children's are $3.50 for those 6 to 12. Meals are free to those 5 and under. Carryouts will be available to patrons providing their own containers, or a container will be provided for 50 cents.
UPCOMING
XBoar's Head Ladies of St. John's Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 14 at the church. The menu will include salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and beverage. Cost is $6, and containers will be provided for takeout orders. No reservations are necessary. XSacred Heart Church, 400 Lincoln Park Dr., is having its fourth annual steak fry Sept. 17 beginning at 4 p.m. The menu will include strip steak, baked potato, salad, corn on the cob, roll and dessert. The cost is $12 per person. Tickets are $12 per person and can be obtained at the door or call the parish office at (330) 747-6080 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays.
XA steak and chicken dinner will be held at St. Patrick Church social hall, Oak Hill Avenue, Youngstown, from noon to 3 p.m. Sept. 18 to raise funds for its elevator fund and the parish life committee. Only 200 pre-sale tickets are available at a cost of $15 each. The dinner includes potato, salad, dessert and beverage. When accompanied by an adult, children 12 and under can receive a free lunch that includes a hot dog, chips, dessert and beverage. XSalvation Army, Glenwood Avenue, will hold a pasta luncheon from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 24 at the center to raise money for a tent to be used in its outreach programs. Area restaurants and individuals will prepare seafood, vegetable and Italian pasta salads for judging and cash prizes. Those attending the lunch will taste the various salads.
