Seminar at New Bethel
YOUNGSTOWN -- New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St., will have its annual seminar at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7-11. The topic will be "The Presence and Power of the Holy Spirit in the Ministry of the Church and in the Life of the Believer."
Facilitators are the Rev. Lewis Macklin, pastor, Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church for the men's class; the Rev. Gena Thornton, St. Paul AME Church, Cleveland, for the women's class; Minister Sean Robinson, Everlife Assembly of God, for the youth class; and the Rev. Daniel Webb, Price Memorial AME Zion Church, for the co-ed class. There are also children's classes for ages 7 to 12. Child care will be provided.

Worship team to visit
MINERAL RIDGE -- First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge will welcome the JBM Worship Team on Sunday.
The group of teenagers and adults, who are current and past campers at Joseph Badger Meadows Camp and Conference Center in Burghill, will lead a worship service.
After the service, the congregation will host the pastor, the Rev. Mark Phillips, at lunch at the Gatsby Restaurant, Austintown, in observance of Pastor Appreciation Sunday.
Ordination service
YOUNGSTOWN -- Ordination services for minister Wanda Richardson will take place at 5 p.m. Sunday at New Bethel Baptist Church. She is the educational ministry liaison to the Rev. Kenneth L. Simon, pastor.
Cenacle at shrine
YOUNGSTOWN -- Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted, 517 S. Belle Vista Ave., and Holy Rosary Prayer Group will hold a rosary cenacle at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 9 to honor the Rev. Vit Fialo and to welcome the Rev. James Merlino, new shrine director, and the Rev. Giles Barreda. A reception with light refreshments will follow.
Concert at church
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Everlasting Hope of Warren will present a concert at 6 p.m. Nov. 6 at First Presbyterian Church, 125 N. Jefferson St. The four young women who make up the group sing a fusion of southern gospel and contemporary Christian. A free-will offering will be taken. There will dessert and fellowship after the concert.
Gospel group to sing
NORTH LIMA -- The Franz Family, a bluegrass gospel group from Berryville, Ala., will perform at 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive. The full-time music ministry involves a family of six.

Parent Academy set
YOUNGSTOWN -- Parent Academy will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at New Bethel Baptist Church. It will include topics such as understanding homework, reading to your child, and teacher and school. A question-and-answer segment also is planned.
Dedication ceremony
YOUNGSTOWN -- Sts. Cyril & amp; Methodius Church, 252 E. Wood St., will have a dedication ceremony at the 10:30 a.m. Mass Sunday in honor of St. Dympha, patroness of those who suffer from Alzheimer's, dementia and cancer.
Worship seminar
COLUMBIANA -- The Upper Room Fellowship, 500 Sponseller Road, will sponsor a worship seminar Nov. 19 featuring author Tom Kraeuter of St. Louis. He has written 11 books including "Worship Is ... What?" and "The Worship Leader's Handbook." He is the former managing editor of the Psalmist magazine.

First sermon
YOUNGSTOWN -- Amber C. Rowe-Rios will preach her first sermon at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Everlife Assembly of God Church, 815 Wilson Ave. The Youngstown woman is married to Danny Rios and is the mother of six children.
Service of healing
YOUNGSTOWN -- A service of healing, including Communion, is planned at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave. A part of the service is the "healing" or laying-on-of-hands.
Missionary program
YOUNGSTOWN -- Morning Star Baptist Church, 747 Willow St., will have a missionary program at 4 p.m. Sunday.
The speaker will be Minister Yoland Shields-Chapman.
Songsters Quartet
NORTH JACKSON -- The Songsters Quartet will present a concert at 6 p.m. Nov. 5 at Bailey Road Baptist Church, 2121 N. Bailey Road. Members of the spiritual music group, which formed in 1960, are Jerry Waldrop, lead singer and manager; Sharon Waldrop, alto; John Arnett, baritone; and Larry Counterman, bass and co-manager.
