Giancola powers Hubbard to 7th win

HUBBARD -- Senior back Tony Giancola rushed for 221 yards and three touchdowns, powering Hubbard High to a 29-7 season-ending win over Brookfield Friday night in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game.
Giancola scored on runs of 2, 51 and 35 yards to spark the Eagles (7-3, 5-2 TAC).
Sophomore quarterback Mark Kanetsky set a single-season passing record at Hubbard with 1,081 yards, breaking the old mark of 1,054 yards set by Tim O'Hara in 1984. Kanetsky completed 3-of-9 passes for 56 yards..
Russell Hawkins scored on a 20-yard run for Hubbard.
Carl Venzic caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Dave Nehlen for the Warriors (4-6, 3-4 TAC).
Lakeview 34, Champion 0
CORTLAND -- Junior Brett Davenport ran 13 times for 114 yards and he scored three touchdowns for the Bulldogs (7-3, 5-2 TAC).
Kevin Albert completed touchdown passes of 15 yards to Jake Miller and 29 yards to Davenport.
Brent Socie tacked on 14 carries for 58 yards and a 2-yard touchdown to wrap up the scoring.
Chad Kinkead rushed 10 times for 30 yards for Champion (3-7, 2-5 TAC).
LaBrae 28,Newton Falls 12
LEAVITTSBURG -- Danny Hartman ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more, leading LaBrae (5-5, 3-4 TAC).
Hartman, who ran for 80 yards on 18 carries, scored on a pair of 3-yard runs. Hartman also threw scoring strikes of 58 and 10 yards to Kyle Rowan -- Hartman's only two pass attempts of the game.
George Davis scored both touchdowns on runs of 14 and 10 yards for Newton Falls (1-9, 1-6 TAC).
