Schedule: Today, qualifying (Speed Channel, 8 p.m.); Sunday, race (NBC, Noon).
Track: Atlanta Motor Speedway (quad-oval, 1.54 miles, 24 degrees banking in turns).
Race distance: 500.5 miles, 325 laps.
Last race: Jeff Gordon held off Tony Stewart in a three-lap dash to win at Martinsville Speedway, his first victory since May 1. Stewart, meanwhile, dominated early and took a 15-point lead over third-place finisher Jimmie Johnson in the Chase.
Last year: Johnson became the first Cup racer since 1998 to win three straight races by taking the Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500.
Next race: Dickies 500, Nov. 6, Fort Worth, Texas.
NASCAR CRAFTSMAN TRUCKSEasy Care Vehicle 200Hampton, Ga.
Schedule: Saturday, qualifying, 11:30 a.m., race (Speed Channel, 3 p.m.).
Track: Atlanta Motor Speedway (quad-oval, 1.54 miles, 24 degrees banking in turns).
Race distance: 200 miles, 134 laps.
Last race: Ricky Craven drove the last 145 laps on the same tires and tank of gas, and made Jack Roush the leader in career wins among owners in the truck series with a victory at Martinsville Speedway.
Last year: Bobby Hamilton passed Mike Skinner on the final lap and held on to win the Easy Care Vehicle 200 when Skinner spun off turn four, sliding backward across the line just 0.33 seconds behind the winner.
Next race: Silverado 350, Nov. 4, Fort Worth, Texas.
