YOUNGSTOWN -- Martin Luther King III, son of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., will lead an "invitational consultation" with Mahoning Valley business, labor, education and other leaders Friday at Youngstown State University.
The invitation-only meeting at 8:30 a.m. in Kilcawley Center will be followed by a public reception at 10:30 a.m. in the Bresnahan Suites in Kilcawley Center.
King has a national reputation for effectively resolving conflicts and for bringing various segments of a community together, said Jimmy Myers, YSU director of Equal Opportunity and Diversity.
It was reported that King also will be the keynote speaker at the Regional Chamber's third From Steel To Scholars luncheon at noon Friday at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex in Liberty.
King, the second oldest of four children to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King, is president and chief executive of the King Center in Atlanta.
