XWestern Reserve Baptist Church, 8590 Hitchcock Road, Boardman, at the corner of Hitchcock and Western Reserve, will sponsor a community luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Donations will be accepted. FRIDAY
XHoly Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will be selling potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon Friday at (330) 755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide containers.
XHoly Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church will be serving fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; and bread and butter, coffee or tea. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.
XHoly Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will sell pirogi and hot pirogi lunches and homemade plain, cinnamon and powdered-sugar cake doughnuts. Orders will be taken from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday at (330) 746-9528. Orders should be placed early and are to be picked up by 2 p.m. Friday. Pirogi cost is $4 per dozen.
XNational Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 Lipkey Road, North Jackson, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Friday. Cost is $9 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. The menu will feature baked or fried fish, a cook's choice fish or 21-piece shrimp, and a choice of hot foods and salad. Dessert also is included along with coffee, tea or punch. XSt. Paul the Apostle Church, Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi. Orders can be called to (330) 542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
XSt. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders are taken at (330) 747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 1 Friday, based upon availability. The cost is $4 a dozen for potato and kraut and for cottage cheese. Lunches are served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance.
SATURDAY
XAmerican Legion Post 290, state Route 14, Columbiana, will have a Streetfair barbecue-chicken dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Cost is $9. Meal includes one-half chicken, a potato, cole slaw, vegetable and roll. Homemade desserts will be $1.50. Carryout will be available. A Halloween party with the band Tease will run from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Cover charge will be $5. Specialty drinks, contests and prizes are planned.
XSankofa House for Women Inc. will serve a spaghetti dinner at the Sharon Senior High School cafeteria, 1129 E. XEast Palestine Fire Department will hold a chicken barbecue from 4 to 7 p.m. at the East Clark Street Fire Station. Tickets are adults, $8; children 12 and under, $4. Meals include baked potato, baked beans, salad, roll and beverage. Carryouts available. Take your own container.

XImmaculate Heart of Mary Parish Center, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, will have a clam bake from noon to 4 p.m. The cost is $20 per person, and the dinner includes: one dozen clams, chicken breast, corn on the cob, redskin potatoes, rolls and butter, key lime pie, coffee and tea.
