Trustees pass levy resolution
BOARDMAN -- Trustees unanimously passed a resolution supporting levy renewals on next month's ballot.
At their regular meeting Monday, trustees passed the resolution supporting renewals for the park district, school district and the township.
A 0.6-mill renewal for the park district represents about 35 percent of the district's budget, according to the resolution. It was first passed in 1983 and generates about $312,359 annually for park expenses.
The school district has two renewal levies for operating expenses on the Nov. 8 ballot. A 6-mill levy, originally passed in 1991, brings in about $3.7 million annually, and a 5.9-mill levy, first passed in 1996, generates about $4.3 million each year.
The township also is asking voters to renew two levies for current operating expenses. A 0.7-mill levy, initially passed in 1976, garners about $318,384, and a 3-mill levy, first passed in 1981, brings in about $1.56 million.
All the renewals are for five years.
