YOUNGSTOWN -- After three years of fund raising, a groundbreaking ceremony was scheduled for 11:15 a.m. today at St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave. The parish is adding an elevator from the church to the social hall and will redo inside steps to enable parishioners to walk safely from the church to the social hall. The project is estimated at $186,000, according to a press release.
King Graves Road closing
HOWLAND -- The Trumbull County Engineer's Office reports that King Graves Road will be closed about 230 feet east of Celestial Drive in Howland Township will for a culvert replacement Tuesday through Thursday.
Christmas parade planned
COLUMBIANA -- Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce will have its fourth annual Christmas parade at 10 a.m. Nov. 19. Any business, organization, school, church or children's group is welcome to participate. Pictures with Santa will be available after the parade at the log cabin on the square. Big Brothers, Sisters
NEW CASTLE -- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lawrence County will have an informational open house from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at its office, 332 Highland Ave. Staff members will answer questions about the program. Sewer system upgrades
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Grove City Borough is receiving a a $5 million state loan to help upgrade its regional sewage treatment system to accommodate new businesses and jobs. The upgrades will help a 550,000-square-foot brownfield site in the borough being developed by Cooper Industrial Commons and the expansion of Prime Retail L.P. Power Center. State Sen. Bob Robbins of Greenville, R-50th, said 550 to 750 jobs are expected to be created from those projects.
