Baldwin-Wallace
Matt Davis, a senior defensive tackle from Mineral Ridge, enjoyed his best game as a collegian in the Yellow Jackets' 35-22 win recently over Heidelberg College. Davis had a career-high 10 tackles and 1.5 quarterback sacks. Through seven games this season, Davis has 38 tackles, including 14 solo stops, to rank No. 4 on the team. He has four tackles for losses for 9 yards and 2.5 sacks for 5 yards. B-W has a 3-4 record, including 2-4 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Davis is playing a great deal because preseason starting tackles Matt Leber and Derek Fabry were injured prior to this season and have not played all year. Davis is a psychology and political science major and carries a 3.4 grade point average. He is a candidate for Academic All-OAC accolades. Davis is one of 12 area players on the B-W roster. The others are seniors Paul Lepro (Warren JFK, defensive end) and Matt Martig (West Branch, outside linebacker), juniors Rob Palma (Poland, punter) and Patrick Birch (Springfield, defensive back), sophomores Lyle Hayes (Brookfield, defensive tackle) and J.P. Barco (Southington, tight end), and freshmen Charles Koch (Austintown Fitch, defensive tackle), Tony Darkadakis (South Range, outside linebacker), Jim Shurilla (Poland, safety) and John Rozum (Jackson-Milton High and Warren, inside linebacker).

McFadden scored the game-tying and game-winning goals and also had an assist on his team's first goal. Through 15 games, McFadden is the Storm's leading scorer with 15 points on six goals and two assists. He has led Lake Erie to an 8-5-2 record, including 6-1 in the AMCC for second place in the standings. McFadden is a criminology major and the son of Dan and Patricia McFadden. There are seven area players in all on the Lake Erie team, including four from Hubbard High. The Hubbard players are Justin Daly, a junior defender who has five points on one goal and three assists; Matt Tringhese, a junior defender with two goals and four points; Tom Angelo, sophomore defender with one assist for one point, and Michael Mogg, a junior goalkeeper. Slippery Rock
