Nochta eighth, Rogner 10th at state golf



LOCKBOURNE -- Three area girls competed in the first day of the state golf tournament at Foxfire Golf Club Friday.
Laura Nochta, a senior from Lakeview High, shot 42-43--85 to finish tied for fourth among individual qualifiers and eighth overall.
Warren JFK's Katie Rogner, a junior, shot 45-41--86 to finish tied for sixth among individual qualifiers and tied for 10th overall.
Ariel Witmer of South Range finished with 49-49--98 to 13th among individual qualifiers and 54th overall.
Dublin Jerome leads the team standings by 12 shots over Cincinnati St. Ursula.
Emma Jandel, a senior at Dayton Oakwood, had the day's low score, a 79.
In the boys Division I tournament, Upper Arlington and Dublin Jerome share the team lead at 323.
Bryan Blake, a senior at Westerville Central, had the low individual round of 75.
The tournament concludes today.
