KENT -- Adrian Davis rushed for 252 yards and three touchdowns to lead Northern Illinois to a 34-3 victory over Kent State Saturday.
Phil Horvath also threw for 121 yards and two scores for the Huskies (4-3, 3-1 Mid-American Conference), who finished with 408 yards of offense.
Horvath tossed a 6-yard TD pass to Brandon Davis and Adrian Davis had a 4-yard scoring run to give Northern Illinois a 14-0 lead after the first quarter.
Adrian Davis added 52- and 2-yard scoring runs in the second quarter for the Huskies, who scored touchdowns on four of their seven possessions in the first half.
Kent State (1-6, 0-4) had three turnovers and only managed 195 yards of offense. Josh Brazen had a career-high 10 punts.
Ohio 38, Ball St. 21
ATHENS -- Kalvin McRae rushed for 268 yards and a touchdown and Austen Everson ran for two scores to lead Ohio over Ball State.
Wide receiver Justin Fitzgerald also had an 80-yard touchdown run for the Bobcats (3-4, 2-2 MAC), who finished with 414 yards rushing on 52 carries.
Joey Lynch completed 23 of 34 passes for 241 yards and a touchdown for Ball State (1-6, 1-3). Louis Johnson had seven receptions for 132 yards.
The Cardinals lost two fumbles and converted only 1 of 11 third downs.
W. Michigan 45, Bowling Green 14
BOWLING GREEN -- Tim Hiller threw for 258 yards and three touchdowns for Western Michigan.
The Broncos (4-3, 2-2 Mid-American Conference) dominated the Falcons (4-3, 3-1), who were forced to play without star quarterback Omar Jacobs for most of the game.
Broncos defensive end Matt Ludeman hit Jacobs on a passing play in the first quarter, driving Jacobs into the ground and causing him to fumble. Jacobs, who had completed 6 of 9 passes for 98 yards, left the game with pain in his non-throwing shoulder and did not return.
Ameer Ismail Jr. picked up Jacobs' fumble and ran 53 yards for a touchdown to give Western Michigan a 7-6 lead.
