Area aces
Bill Matovina of Hubbard used a 7-iron to shoot a hole-in-one on the 150-yard No. 4 at Mahoning Country Club. He was playing with Hugh McBride and Rich Kelly.
Dennis Schiraldi of Lowellville aced the 124-yard No. 5 hole on the South course using a 9-iron. Witnesses were Gary Slaven, Steve Slaven, and Pat Musolino.
