Gunfire wounds 2 teens on North Side
YOUNGSTOWN -- Two 17-year-old North Side boys were wounded -- one in the left arm, one in the back -- when the car they were in was fired upon at 12:01 a.m. Saturday on Wardle Avenue.
The shots were possibly fired from a maroon van, reports show.
The boys were treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
One of the victims told police that he may have been mistaken for the son of a 35-year-old Datson Avenue woman who was also in the car.
Police said the woman kept apologizing as if the shooting were her fault.
One boy told police there was a rumor the woman's son may have been involved in a double shooting late Thursday on Stewart Street.
