Horror film stars will be at special Halloween event
GIRARD -- The Halloween Horror Show -- featuring Toby Radloff, who played a role in the movie "American Splendor" -- will be Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the future site of Girard Video, 237 N. State St.
It will serve as the pre-show event for the Dark Xmas sci-fi and horror convention, which will be Nov. 11 to 13 at the Comfort Inn in Warren.
Other guests from the horror and independent film genre will be on hand to meet attendees, said Travis Bowen, promoter of Dark Xmas.
In addition to his role in "American Splendor," Radloff is also known for starring in Troma Films' "Killer Nerd" and its sequel, "Bride Of Killer Nerd." Toby got his start on television playing the "Genuine Nerd" on the MTV news in the late 1980s.
Other guests include independent film scream queens.
Three independent filmmakers also will be on hand: Josh Maldonado of Doorway Productions, Bowen of Eerie Frequency Entertainment and Rick Fusselman of DSK Productions.
