GETTING IT RIGHT
The parties to a lawsuit over conditions at the Mahoning County jail agreed to cap the jail population at 296, after which Mahoning County Common Pleas Court judges issued an emergency release order involving inmates at the jail. U.S. District Judge David D. Dowd Jr. then adopted the judges' recommendation. Previous Vindicator stories incorrectly said that Judge Dowd ordered the 296- inmate cap.
