Woman stabbed; suspect arrested
YOUNGSTOWN -- A 24-year-old Saranac Avenue woman was in guarded condition in St. Elizabeth Health Center on Sunday night with stab wounds to the head and right arm.
The victim, Nina Spencer, told Youngstown police she was assaulted by a former boyfriend, Andre L. Scott, 25, of Dogwood Drive, who pounded on her door at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday. She told police that when she answered the door, Scott attacked her so she sprayed him with Mace. She said he then became enraged and stabbed her several times before fleeing, according to the police report.
Scott was arrested in the 1400 Block of Victor Avenue a short time later and charged with felonious assault.
Man reports abduction
YOUNGSTOWN -- A 46-year-old Bryson Street man, apparently abducted by mistake, was held prisoner in an unknown location for about 13 hours Saturday and Sunday.
The victim told city police he was walking on Bryson when a van with two men in it pulled up beside him and asked if he was "Wayne." When he said no, one pointed a revolver at him and ordered him into the van and onto the floor and placed a laundry bag over his head.
The victim told police they drove around for a long time before he was eventually taken into a building that he said smelled like an auto body repair shop and locked in a small brick storage room.
He eventually fell asleep but was wakened by his abductors and shown to a third man, who said he was the wrong person. The victim was then dropped off on Andrews Avenue around 12:30 p.m. Sunday and called police.
