Monday, November 28, 2005

YOUNGSTOWN -- A Berwick Avenue man called police about 3 a.m. Sunday after someone fired a shot at his East Side residence.
The 52-year-old man told police a 20-year-old Youngstown man broke into his home, argued with one of his daughters and fired the shot from outside, striking the front living room door. No one was injured.
According to a police report, the man came over to talk to the daughter and became angry when she refused to speak with him. He tossed a charcoal grill at a window, kicked in a door and entered the home.
After the man left, the victim and his daughters heard the gunfire.
The man fled in a green Pontiac Bonneville, police said. No casings were found near the door, and no arrests had been made as of Sunday evening.
