XYOUNGSTOWN -- An intimate dinner party was held Nov. 26 at The Upstairs Restaurant in Austintown in honor of Mr. and Mrs. George Janis, 3368 Flora Lane, who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the event were their children and their spouses, Vicky and George Baker of Pickerington, Sandra and Rob Brainard and Joseph and Melissa Janis, all of Youngstown, and Karen and Jeff Mathis of Chino Valley, Ariz. Rounding out the family circle are four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The former Donna Hanlon and Mr. Janis were married Nov. 26, 1955, at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. They are members of St. Christine Church.
Mrs. Janis was a bus driver for Canfield Schools prior to retiring in 2003.
Mr. Janis, a sanitation engineer supervisor with Louisiana Pacific, was also employed by Youngstown Steel Door before retiring in 1997.
