Anniversary event to benefit center

YOUNGSTOWN -- The public is invited to attend a 30th anniversary dinner to be sponsored by the trust endowment board of Millcreek Children's Center, 44 Essex St., and Sister Jerome Corcoran as a benefit for the center.
The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens, Mill Creek Park.
The cost is $85 per person or $150 a couple. Reservations are available to those calling the MCC at (330) 746-7111.
Funds from the project will ensure the continuation of the MCC as a vital preschool educational program for poor, inner-city children.
Sr. Jerome has been at the helm of the organization since its inception 30 years ago. During that time she has graduated approximately 2,500 students. Working parents assume a portion of the costs associated with the preschool program and Sr. Jerome works with the community to raise the balance of the operating funds.
