COLUMBIANA
Coach: Wayne Johnson (3rd season, 34-8).
2004-05 season: 17-4.
Who's gone: Whitney Goist (first team all-TCL, all-county and all-district); Stacie Cross, Lisa Simon (first team all-TCL), Cara Hardenbrook.
Who's back: Kristina Davidson (5-8, Sr.); Colleen Eisenbraun (5-11, Sr.); Krista Johnson (5-5, Jr.); Jackie Hatherill (5-8, Jr.).
Who's new: Katie Douglas (6-1, Soph.); Audrey Davidson (5-5, Soph.); Kaylee Couchenour (5-6, Fr.).
Outlook: The Clippers had a good summer getting into condition for the 2005-06 season. Youthfulness, not much varsity experience and a lack of depth should be offset by their athleticism, size, quickness and work ethic.
CRESTVIEW
Coach: Tanja Simione (9th season, 124-71).
2004-05 record: 12-10.
Who's gone: Ann Unkefer (honorable mention all-county).
Who's back: Brianna Phillis (Sr., G); Elyse Mongillo (Jr., G).
Who's new: Julie Simmons (5-7, G); Chelsie McCall (5-7, G/F); Tess Reash (5-6, Soph., G); Chelsea Bowker (5-10, Fr., F).
Outlook: Phillis, who averaged 14.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game was a first team all-TCL selection last year. Mongillo (11 ppg, 119 assists) was a second-team selection. Simmons missed last year with an injury. The Rebels have good speed and athletic ability and will play an up-tempo game.
EAST PALESTINE
Coach: Bob Wright (7th season, 68-59).
2004-05 record: 15-6, 11-3.
Who's gone: Ashley Ehrenberg (13 ppg), Amanda Mesmer, Korie Beight, Melinda Paine, Lisa Walker, Ashley Carey, Samantha Steiner
Who's back: Seniors Samantha DiCello, Michelle Haggerty and Emilee Givens.
Who's new: Senior Chelsea Fegert; junior Chelsea Peterson.
Outlook: The Bulldogs have a solid core of seniors returning, but lack depth. DiCello averaged 15 points per game last year.
LEETONIA
Coach: Mike Ferguson (2nd season).
2004-05 record: 5-16.
Who's gone: Alison Summers (14 points, 7 rebounds per game; second team all-TCL; honorable mention all-Ohio); Malorie Valentine (10 points, 8 rebounds per game).
Who's back: Katie Brunick (5-1 Sr.); Megan McCallister (5-5, Jr.).
Who's new: Valerie Goerig (5-7, Jr.); Brittany Shea (5-7, Soph.); Gina Jones (5-0, Fr.)
Outlook: The Bears are young and inexperienced, but have good team speed and depth.
LISBON
Coach: Jamie Entrikin (6th season, 60-47).
2004-05 record: 13-8.
Who's gone: Kim Davis (first team all-TCL and all-Columbiana County); Becky MacAleese, Sam Dailey.
Who's back: Juniors Erica Sims (G/F) and Caitlin Glenn (G) and sophomore Emily Smith (G).
Who's new: Chelsea Green (Jr., F/C); Erica Snoddy (Soph., G/F); Emma DeFilippo (Soph./C); Morgan Dailey (Soph., F).
Outlook: The Blue Devils will be very athletic and quick and they have very good outside shooters and they have worked hard at practice, which should translate to wins.
SOUTHERN
Coach: Guy Lindesmith (3rd season).
2004-05 record: 2-18.
Who's gone: Deanna Gastrell.
Who's back: Amanda Logston (5-5, Sr., G); Paula Bergert (5-6, Jr., F); Seairra Grim (5-5, Jr., G); Emily Ramsey (5-4, Jr., G); Nikie Sweat (5-10, Jr., F); Lovie Hill (5-2, Soph., G).
Who's new: Carlynn Higgins (5-4, Jr., G); Alyssa Lockhart (5-8, Jr., F); Monica Allison, (5-9, Soph., F); Christy Zeigler (5-9, Soph, F).
Outlook: The Indians have only one senior returning and need to improve on shooting. Speed, defense and attitude will be keys to success.
UNITED
Coach: Matt Ziegler (5th season, 51-35).
2004-05 season: 12-9, 8-6 TCL.
Who's gone: Ashley Bergman, Katy Miller, Emmy Prosko, Britney Nannah, Carrie Miller.
Who's back: Danielle Altenhof (6-0, Jr., F); Brittany Hofmeister (5-11, Sr., F); Darlene Woolf (5-7, Jr., G).
Who's new: Danielle Ramus (5-5, Sr., G); Tristin Solomon (5-5, Sr., G); Allison Graham (5-9, Jr., G/F); Maggie Miller (5-5, Fr., G); Courtney Baker (5-9, Soph., F); Lindsay Firth (6-0, Fr., F).
Outlook: The last year for the TCL should be very competitive, with five teams having a chance at winning the last league championship. The Golden Eagles hope to improve throughout the season and hope to finish among the leaders.
WELLSVILLE
Coach: Don Elliott (5th season, 32-48).
2004-05 record: 7-14.
Who's back: Jasmine Richardson (5-10, Jr., G); Erin Mick (5-5, Sr. G); Lindsay Householder (5-5, Sr., G); Natalie Mathess (5-6, Sr., G).
Who's new: Shannon Lyle (5-7, Sr., F); Aimice Atwood (5-7, Sr., G); Roxanne Lucos, (5-5, Sr., G); Stacie Welch (6-1, Jr., C); Amber Dalrymple (5-11, Soph., C); Mikelle Williams, (5-5, Soph., G).
Outlook: Richardson averaged 18 points and 7 rebounds per game last season. The Tigers have good size and athleticism but must cut down on mistakes.
