POLL What the people say

Thursday, November 24, 2005

A recent poll found that Americans have mixed feelings on immigration and border issues:
65 percent say groups such as the Minutemen should not patrol the border (31 percent said they should).
75 percent say the government isn't doing enough to prevent illegal immigration (15 percent say it is, while 4 percent say it's doing too much).
51 percent say legal immigration should be decreased (11 percent want it increased, 30 percent want it kept at the same level).
58 percent say immigrants take jobs Americans don't want (31 percent say they take jobs away from Americans).
