Today's NFL games have Atlanta at Detroit (12:30, Fox) and Denver at Dallas (4 p.m., CBS) In college action, the matchups are Virginia Tech at Virginia (3 p.m., CSN) and Pittsburgh at West Virginia at (5 p.m., ESPN). No piling on.
Thanksgiving Day parades (9 a.m., multiple networks): NBC's "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" is hosted by the "Today" show crew of Matt Lauer, Katie Couric and Al Roker and will be broadcast in high definition for the first time. High school bands will pay tribute to New Orleans. On CBS, "The Thanksgiving Day Parade" will be hosted by Hannah Storm and Dave Price of "The Early Show," and Gary Valentine ("The King of Queens") will report from the parade route.
Fangs-giving (9 a.m.-8 p.m., Animal Planet): A collection of programs with a bite, covering various critters from ferocious felines to dinosaur descendants.
"The National Dog Show" (noon, NBC): John O'Hurley ("Dancing With the Stars") joins dog expert David Frei to comment on the competition.
"Home for the Holidays: History of Thanksgiving" (noon, 6 p.m., History): A look at the holiday's early history and modern traditions.
"Thanksgiving With Raymond" (1-8 p.m., TBS): Spend the day with the Barone family with a marathon of "Everybody Loves Raymond" episodes.
