Cemetery to begin work on new mausoleum

AUSTINTOWN -- Resurrection Cemetery will be breaking ground for a new mausoleum soon.
"We should be starting to move some dirt this week," said Joe Kun, assistant director for Diocese of Youngstown Cemeteries.
The cemetery is open to all Catholics regardless of parish affiliation, he said.
He said the mausoleum should be finished in about a year.
Forty spaces are sold so far, he said, out of 384 spaces available.
Kun said the mausoleum will be open, with overhangs and sidewalks.
He said preconstruction pricing is available until the groundbreaking, with a $300 savings.
One space, which accommodates two people, will cost $5,600, he said. He said that is less than the cost of an in-ground burial.
The cemetery is on Raccoon Road, a half-mile north of Mahoning Avenue.
