CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) --Arkee Whitlock rushed 23 times for 155 yards and a touchdown Saturday to lead Southern Illinois in a 9-0 shutout of North Dakota State.
Whitlock's second-quarter touchdown was the only one of the game.
Joel Sambursky had 135 yards on 18-for-28 passing for Southern Illinois (8-3, 5-2 Gateway), setting up Craig Coffin's 26-yard field goal with 13 seconds remaining in the first half.
Steve Walker led North Dakota State (7-4, 3-2 Great West), completing 7 of 17 passes for 67 yards. The Bison gained 247 total yards compared to the Salukis' 268, but they also committed four turnovers.
Kyle Steffes added 65 yards on 13 carries in the loss.
