Rare map sold at auction

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- A map thought to be the last of the original plans for the city of Pittsburgh sold at auction Saturday for $55,000.
The map sold at the Samuel T. Freeman & amp; Co. auction house was one of three made in 1784 by Col. George Woods under the direction of Tench Francis, an agent for the William Penn family. The other two copies were destroyed in the Pittsburgh blaze known as the Great Fire of 1845.
The woman who entered the winning bid Saturday was present at the auction house, but declined to give her name. She was awarded the map after several exchanges with other bidders, primarily ones submitting offers over the telephone.
